The embedded CICS TS Liberty JVM server requires an upgrade of
WebSphere Application Server Liberty profile to Version
16.0.0.3.

  • CICS TS has been updated to use a Liberty JVM server that is
based on WebSphere Application Server Liberty profile Version
16.0.0.3.

In addition, the following WebSphere Application Server Liberty
profile APAR fixes have been incorporated into the CICS Liberty
JVM Server:

PI71691 - BUNDLEEXCEPTION HAPPENS WHEN ADDING A FEATURE TO A
          RUNNING SERVER CAUSING A BUNDLE TO BE REINSTALLED

information regarding third party components, included by this
APAR and obtained as part of IBM WebSphere Liberty 16.0.0.3.

This APAR changes how zOS Connect EE is referenced by the CICS
JVM server.  Previously, a zosconnect.properties file had to be
created in /var/cicsts/dfhconfig/wlp/etc/extensions.  This is no
longer required and the location of the zOS Connect EE install
is specified with a new JVM profile option ZCEE_INSTALL_DIR,
e.g, ZCEE_INSTALL_DIR=/usr/lpp/IBM/zosconnect/v2r0/runtime

This APAR also includes fixes for the following problem in CICS
TS for z/OS 5.2.

- Message BAQR7026E:  z/OS Connect API package install failed.
An IO error occurred during installation. may be issued when
configuring the cicsts:zosConnect-2.0 feature in a Liberty JVM
server.  This is caused by a missing directory structure.
This fix creates
${WLP_USER_DIR}/servers/server_name/resources/zosconnect/apis
at server start if it doesn't already exist.
