    JAX-RS 1.1 did not properly clean up application metadata in
    the event that an application failed to start. Eventually
    this would result in a classloader leak.

Problem conclusion

  • Code is updated so the metadata is cleaned up if the
    application fails to start.

    The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
    fix pack 8.5.5.11 and 9.0.0.1. Please refer to the Recommended
    Updates page for delivery information:
    http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=180&uid=swg27004980

Temporary fix

  • Do not leave apps installed that will not start. If jaxrs 1.1
    is not needed, set jvm property
    com.ibm.websphere.jaxrs.server.DisableIBMJAXRSEngine=true
