Error description
In Rational Developer for System z - RDz - v9.1.1.2, when clicking between 2 characters, the cursor is placed before the character on the left side of the click position rather than between the 2 characters. Steps to reproduce: 1) For example with word "MOVE", click between O and V 2) Expected result is to have the cursor placed between O and V but result is that cursor is placed before O
Local fix
Either click on letter V rather than between O and V or click very close to the left of V.
Problem summary
In Rational Developer for System z - RDz - v9.1.1.2, when clicking between 2 characters, the cursor is placed before the character on the left side of the click position rather than between the 2 characters.
Problem conclusion
LPEX was changed so that when in insert mode, a bounding box making up half of each adjacent character is used to determine where to position the cursor after a click, that is, in between the two characters. In insert mode, the bounding box of each character is used instead, as in the existing functionality - clicking anywhere in a characters bounding box will cause the cursor to be positioned at the start of that character. The problem listed in this APAR has been resolved with IBM Rational Developer for System z V9.1.1.4 Fix Pack which is available from the Recommended Fixes support download page: http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=2294&uid=swg27006335
