Error description

  • Rational Developer for System z (RDz): RDZ client 9.5
Editors do not parse the COMMA when a preprocessor is
    invoked.
    Error "ERROR_TOKEN" unexpected tokens ignored"
is received regarding the COMMA because of
           SPECIAL-NAMES.
               DECIMAL-POINT IS COMMA.
handled by a preprocessor is not recognized.
Then all the commas are marked in error.

    Example:
A a macro code in the editor is
         + FC;
    That is replaced by:
           ENVIRONMENT DIVISION.
           CONFIGURATION SECTION.
           SPECIAL-NAMES.
               DECIMAL-POINT IS COMMA.
Then the comma is not parsed in the following
    COBOL COMPUTE instruction:
    COMPUTE WA-TEST ROUNDED = WA-TEST
                   + (5 * 100 * 0,01)

Local fix

  • Insert the DECIMAL-POINT IS COMMA.
    in the Editor.

Problem summary

  • RDz COBOL parser does not parse COMMA correctly when the DECIMAL
POINT IS COMMA phrase is specified inside a macro.

Problem conclusion

  • RDz COBOL Parser needs to be updated to make sure a "decimal
point is comma" flag is pushed down even when the DECIMAL POINT
IS COMMA phrase is specified inside a macro and this information
is captured as part of the preprocessor processing.
