PI55456: RATIONAL DEVELOPER FOR SYSTEM Z V9.5.1 - DEBUG MENU ACTIONS ARE MISSING FROM CICS EXPLORER VIEWS
Closed as program error.
When debugging a remote CICS program in Rational Developer for System z (RDz), the user has several ways to start the CICS Debug Configuration wizard -- Debug Menu, z/OS Projects view, CICS Explorer views and Enterprise Service Tools Project Explorer. Through the CICS Explorer views, the Debug Configuration can be accessed by selecting programs or a transaction and then select Debug > Debug Configurations. However, with the upgrade to 9.5.1 and CICS Explorer 5.3, the user observed that the Debug menu actions were missing from the CICS Explorer views.
Other ways the user can get to the Debug Configurations dialog include: 1) Typing Debug Configurations into the Quick Access text box in the product toolbar, and choosing the option listed next to the word Menus (see below) 2) Switching to the Debug perspective and choosing the down arrow next to the Debug icon in the toolbar (see below), then selecting Debug Configurations. 3. The user can also add the debug toolbar to any perspective (if its not already there) as follows: a. Select Windows > Customize perspective from the main menu b.Select the Debug action in the Launch list
Debug actions were missing from the context menu CICS Explorer views in RDz.
CICS Explorer views were migrated to the new eclipse command framework for menu contributions, thus causing the debug actions to no longer appear. The debug actions were migrated to the command framework and are now visible again in the context menu.
