Closed as program error.
In RDz v8.0.1user sees the following problem: RDz client selects a connection in RSE view, and selects properties->Host. Then under Default Encoding there are two choices, of which first is pre-selected: - Default from Remote System - Other (pulldown) If the user select Other and saves the connection. Then the setting is changed to "Other" permanently. In other words, if he reopens the properties, an wants to set it back to "Default from Remote Systems" it does not take effect - reopening the properties still shows "Other " selected. Workaround:
When the user switches back from using a specific encoding that happens to be the same as the default to the default, RSE does not reset the encoding to use the default. The problem is that RSE incorrectly avoids updating the setting if the previous and new encodings match.
RSE should always update the setting, even if the new and old encodings don't match. The problem listed in this APAR has been resolved with IBM Rational Developer for System z V22.214.171.124 Fix Pack which is available from the Recommended Fixes support download page: http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=2294&uid=swg27006335
