Error description

  • There is a problem with lines 're-rendering' diagrams when they
are opened. When a diagram is opened (primarily on BDD's and
IBD's) the lines are not re-displayed how they were last drawn.
Once a diagram starts to exhibit this behavior it will continue
to do so every time that the diagram is re-rendered.

The behavior can be forced if you select the layout option
"Enforce Snap To Grid". So it appears that the lines are be
allowed to be drawn between two grid lines during creation.
Then once the diagram is re-rendered the tool forces the lines
to be re-drawn on a grid lines.

If you move a element , via arrow keys, that is connected to
the mis-rendered connector(s) two taps in any direction the
connector(s) will be redrawn as the user originally drew them.

    * User finds rectilliear lins as unstable in two scenarios we *

    * 1) when moving lines using keyboard - it causes lines to *

    * 2) when creating lines on "enforce snap to grid" mode and *
    * reopeneing model, when lines are connected using ports, user *
    * points are gone and line is being drawn again with default *
    * points, not as user wanted *

Problem conclusion

  • Fixed in 8.1.5
We have fixed the two scenarios described in the problem as
    follows
    1) moving lines using keyboard is ambigous (unlike mouse that
you can choose which segment to move) so we won't allow it
anymore, preventing from now the corruption.
    2) lines won't be redrawn in such case.
