APAR status

Error description

• USS-related abendA03 in a spawned BPXAS Rational Developer for
  System z v9.1.1.2 ASID at irregular intervals.
  
  USS-related abendA03 can be catched via SLIP trap that includes
  the OMVS ASID that there are sometimes such abends related to
  RDz shutdown USS processing.
  
  SYSLOG shows:
  IEA995I SYMPTOM DUMP OUTPUT 431
  SYSTEM COMPLETION CODE=A03
  
  The dump shows the abendA03 in a spawned RDz address space
  running in an USS-initiator.
  The SH-TCB attached by the initiator wanted to end normally via
  EXIT SVC.
  
  As it still had a TCB attached we get the abendA03. The still
  attached TCB is a 31-bit Java 7.0 which has been attached by
  BPXPRATX+D12 at base level.
  Processing seen in this TCB are repetitive PC calls
    from CSECT CEEPPOS +1BBC at level FMID/RMID = HLE7790/UI13205
    to   CSECT IEWLCLDX+0    at level FMID/RMID = HBB7790/UA76713
  
  The LE traceback in the dump shows

  01.USS-related abendA03 in a spawned BPXAS Rational Developer
     for System z v9.1.1.2 ASID at irregular intervals. Based on
     the dump image analysis, abendA03 idicates that the shell
     process is terminated before the java process that is a
     child process of the terminated shell is killed. RDz server
     forces killing the shell process that does not resopond to
     the management thread in a reasonalbe time.
  

Problem conclusion

• 01.RDz server is updated to kill java process before shell
     process is killed in the heavy load situation.
