In Rational Developer for System z (RDz) version 9.1.1, special German characters in JCL are not displayed correctly after the JCL is re-submitted from the job. You can recreate it in the following way: - Make sure the host code page (IBM-273) is set correctly on the MVS Files node in Remote Systems view. - Submit the JCL with special German characters (such as a with umlaut, o with umlaut, etc.) from Remote Systems view. - Retrieve the job associated with the JCL by clicking on "Locate Job" button of the Job Submission Confirmation dialog and select "Show JCL" by selecting the job. The special characters are displayed correctly. - Re-submit the JCL by selecting the JES job in Remote Systems view. The special characters are NOT displayed correctly. The same issue can be seen in RDz 188.8.131.52.
Open the JCL from Remote Systems view
JES Resubmit Action does not set the encoding correctly when creating the input stream reader.
Need to fix the JES Resubmit Action which creates the input stream reader before the submitting the JCL. The problem listed in this APAR has been resolved with IBM Rational Developer for System z V184.108.40.206 Fix Pack which is available from the Recommended Fixes support download page: http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=2294&uid=swg27006335
