Error description

  • Rational Developer for System z - RDz - v9.1.0

Attempts to open a text file, such as a JES spool file, using
the default editor, which is the System z LPEX editor, takes a
very long time when opening a large file such as an FEKLOGs
    spool file.

Local fix

  • Change the default editor for spool files and txt files to be
a text editor instead of the System z LPEX editor.

Window > Preferences > General > Editors > File association

For *.spool you will need to first add a text editor and then
set the text editor to be the default.

For text files set the default editor for *.txt in file
associations dialog to a text editor.
