Rational Developer for System z 8.5.1 - RDz - Using CARMA properties to modify the "local extension" of Endevor elements within container is not preserved. From RDz CARMA Repositories view, user can change the "local extension" for all elements within a "TYPE" container. To do this, user can RMC on container and select 'Properties' from the context menu. In Container "Properties" pane, user can select second radio button under "Local file extension" and supply preferred extension and click <OK>. At this point, elements in container do show with "local extension". However, when element is opened from container, extension reverts back to it's original value.
Use CRATMAP/TYPEMAP file, allocated in CARMA server, to customize container extensions. See documentation on this topic in the RDz Host Configuration Guide: http://publibfp.dhe.ibm.com/epubs/pdf/c237658d.pdf
The RAM extension of the element is taking precedence even when setting the local extension in the Properties dialog of the type and requesting that the element extension is to be taken from the parent container (the element type). This APAR is being closed FIN with concurrence from the submitting customer. This means that a fix to this APAR is expected to be delivered from IBM in a release which is being developed at the time that the APAR was closed. The latest release of the product to exit development at the time this APAR was closed was: Rational Developer for z Systems V18.104.22.168.
