The real time syntax checker (RTSC)/ COBOL parser in RDz
displays several errors for this line:

COPY P49779A REPLACING =='§-'== BY ==CUST==.

Multiple markers at this line
- "'== BY ==CUST==."  is invalid
- "=='"  is invalid
- "CopyOperandByCopyOperands" expected instead of this input
- Unexpected character "§"  ignored
- "ERROR_TOKEN" unexpected tokens ignored

If the section symbol is changed to a SS then it works

Local fix

  • Change section symbol to SS to get rid of RTSC errors

Problem summary

  • Section symbol as variable was not allowed in copy/replace
statements.
