Error description

  • Rational Developer for System z - RDz - v9.1

When you attempt to Open a PDS member by right clicking on the
highlighted DD statement of a PDS member within the JCL editor
it will fail if the dataset was in an offline/archived state
when the PDS was viewed in the Remote System view.

If the dataset if migrated and the Remote Systems view is NOT
    refreshed then it fails.

However, once the Remote Systems view is refreshed for that PDS,

then the JCL editor will successfully open the dataset member.

    Steps to reproduce:
    Connect to the host
Expand the Remote Systems View to show your PDS files
Edit IEBGENER.jcl using the JCL editor
Highlight the PDS member in a SYSUT1 DD statement
    Right click
    Select Open member
Error message CRRZI0022E, dataset member xyz(member) cannot be
found. Verify hat the dataset and member exists on the remote
    system.

Local fix

  • Be sure that the Remote Systems view shows that the PDS is not
offline or migrated before attempting to edit a member
