Error description

  • When moving perspective view in RDz v9 (9.0 or 9.1) client,
screen will briefly turn black. You do not need to move view
to see "black screen flicker". Left mouse click and hold on
RDz view tab will produce the "black screen flicker" most of
the time. This bug is documented as an eclipse bug here:

    https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=389491

Problem summary

  • Client screen turbs black when moving views.

Problem conclusion

  • The window flashes black because it is fully opaque until the
first WM_PAINT event. In WM_PAINT, it is filled with white
    which is the transparent color.

The fix is to only make it opaque after it has been drawn.
