Error description

  • Abstract: Rational Developer for System z V9.1 - Slow
    performance when entering BMS mapset name
    
    When typing in a new BMS mapset name in the wizard there is a
    slow performance observed for each key stroke.
    
    Recreation Steps:
    1. Click File>New>Other>z/OS>BMS>BMS Map Set
    2. Select a valid DSN to put the new map in
    3. Enter a map name in the name field
    4. Notice how long it takes to complete typing
    

Local fix

Problem summary

  • The RDz client checked a member existence several times whenever
    a new mapset name was changed.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The RDz clilent was fixed to check the member existence once
    when the new mapset name was changed.
    
    The problem listed in this APAR has been resolved with
    IBM Rational Developer for System z V9.1.1.1 Fix Pack which
    is available from the Recommended Fixes support download page:
