Error description

  • A stub created (or modified) in the test editor and given a
timeout cannot be run. The error is:

[28/10/2014 08:39:23.400] [Warning] This Stub is being executed
in IBM Rational Integration Tester, and will run for a maximum
    of 5 minutes.
    [28/10/2014 08:38:30.172] [Error] [CRRIT8113E] Compilation
    Failed
    [28/10/2014 08:39:23.400] [Error] Message Switch:to file

Message Switch to file "%%PROJECT/ROOT%%\input.txt" timeout
12345.0ms via "file": [CRRIT8838E] Timeout must be a valid
number! Use '0' to indicate no timeout.

Local fix

  • This can be worked around by:
    - close the stub in Test Factory,
    - open the ".stb" file in a text editor,
    - search for regular expression timeout="\d+\.0"
    - and remove the .0
    - before saving from the text editor
    - and running the stub.

Problem conclusion

  • A fix for this issue was provided in version 8.7.0 of Rational
Integration Tester. The timeout field incorrectly accepted
double values, creating a decimal point for integer values.
