Error description
The IBM HTTP Server could initialize successfully but the WebSphere plugin could fail to initialize. This could make the IHS unusable. Currently the system operator would not know that the plugin failed without looking in filesystem log files.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of Apache based IBM WebSphere * * Application Server Plugin for V7.0 and * * above running on z/OS. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The WebSphere HTTP Plugin could fail * * to initialize without the operator * * realizing it, because the web server * * could still start successfully. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** The IBM Http Server(IHS) could successfully start but the WebSphere HTTP Plugin could fail to initialize. This would create a situation where the web server could accept requests but not handle any requests normally processed by the WebSphere Plugin.
Problem conclusion
The WebSphere HTTP Plugin will now write the following message to the z/OS console if it fails to initialize. PLGC1001E: WebSphere HTTP Plugin failed to initialize. The message is issued via a consople service and therefore will prefixed with message number BPXM023I and the userid the webserver is running under. For example: BPXM023I (WASTST1) PLGC1001E: WebSphere HTTP Plugin failed to initialize APAR PI28074 is currently targeted for inclusion in Fix Packs 7.0.0.37, 8.0.0.11, and 8.5.5.5 of WebSphere Application Server on z/OS.
