PI24626: CANNOT ADD AN ACTION WHEN CREATING MENU MANAGER COMPLEX REMOTE ACTION IN RATIONAL DEVELOPER FOR SYSTEM Z (RDZ)

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• In Rational Developer for System z - RDz -  v8.5.1.5, nothing
  happens when adding an action on the menu manager wizard for
  complex remote action.
  
  Steps to reproduce:
  
  1) In RDz workbench, click Window > Preferences > Menu Manager >
  Actions and Menus.
  2) Click "New Complex Remote Action..." button.
  3) Input a name, which will show in the pop up menu, and select
  a context, such as "MVS Files in Remote Systems View". Click
  "Next >" button.
  4) Click on "Interactive" radio button, and select "*.*" from
  "Available File Types". Click "Next >" button.
  5) In "Action Configuration Page", click "Configure..." button.
  6) Select an action, Input a host name, path, user > Click "OK"
  button
  => Nothing changed in "Action Configuration Page" and the newly
  selected action doesn't appear on the list
  

Local fix

• The menu manager XML file can be created with RDz v9.1 and then
  imported in 8.5.1.5.
  The menu/action can then be modified in 8.5.1.5.
  

Problem summary

• Wrong dialog was invoked for complex remote action.
  

Problem conclusion

• The problem listed in this APAR has been resolved with
  IBM Rational Developer for System z V8.5.1.6 Fix Pack which
  is available from the Recommended Fixes support download page:
