PI23866: RDZ INTEGRATED DEBUGGER DOES NOT SHOW SOURCE WHEN USING SYSIN FOR OPTIONS
Closed as fixed if next.
Rational Developer for System z integrated debugger does not show source when using SYSIN for options. The user receives a dialog with the following message: The zOS probe located the listing file dated 2014/07/28 10:39:03 for COBOL compile unit <PROGNAME>, but it does not contain all the information required for debugging. The compile options SOURCE, LIST, XREF and MAP will create the required debug information. Compile unit <PROGNAME> will be treated as non-debuggable. The compile listing shows for the options "PROCESS(CBL) statements:" this happens when SYSIN is used for the compile options in the JCL. e.g. //SYSIN DD * CBL LIST XREF MAP SOURCE // DD DISP=SHR,DSN=<hlq>.COBOL(PROGNAME) //*
Do not to use SYSIN for options but //STEP1 EXEC PGM=IGYCRCTL, // PARM='.... . If the number of compile options is too large, the OPTFILE compile option and SYSOPTF DD can be used //STEP1 EXEC PGM=IGYCRCTL, // PARM='OPTFILE,.... .... //COBOL.SYSOPTF DD DISP=SHR, // DSN=<hlq>.COBOL.SYSOPTF(OPTS)
