In Rational Developer for System z - RDz - v220.127.116.11, after having submitted a user build, the "Locate job" function will wait until the job is finished. - Launch a user build - Click on preferences and uncheck "submit job" to not submit it automatically - RTC/RDz asks to submit or open the generated JCL => click on submit - RTC/RDz gives a jobid - Click on "Locate job" or "OK" => RDz/RTC will freeze until the job is completed - Once the job is finished, RDz/RTC comes back and user can continue working.
Workaround is to click on "open" instead of submit and then submit the JCL from the editor.
The loop which checks for job completion was not checking the system event queue after waking from sleep.
The loop now calls Display.readAndDispatch() to allow pending work to proceed. In addition we made a slight design change to not prompt the user to locate the job after completion since the normal flow should be to check the Remote Error List rather than job output. The problem listed in this APAR has been resolved with IBM Rational Developer for System z V18.104.22.168 Fix Pack which is available from the Recommended Fixes support download page: http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=2294&uid=swg27006335
