RDZ V9014 INTERNAL DEFECTS AND ENHANCEMENTS - CARMA
Local fix
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: 01.RDz users who access the Endevor * * repository using the IBM supplied RDz * * Endevor RAM. * * 02.(RDz) CARMA system administrator * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: 01.The generated SCL on Endevor API * * calls include field spaces/padding * * not input by user * * 02.RDz Enhancement to enable/disable * * tracing of CARMA CRASTART startup. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** 01.Rational Developer for System z - RDz - 8.5.1, 9.0 and 9.1: The generated SCL on Endevor API calls include field spaces/padding not input by user 02.Rational Developer for System z enhancement to enable/disable tracing of CARMA CRASTART startup. If CRASTART startup tracing is enabled, then the CRASTART startup mechanism will remain active to trap and interpret messages from CRASTART. This implies that each CARMA connection will use 3 address spaces instead of 1. If CRASTART startup tracing is disabled, startup messages are not analyzed. but might still be reported, depending on the debug settings for rsecomm.log. In v9.1.1, the debug level is derived from the debug level used for rsecomm.log. In older releases, it depends on the presence of DD CRATRACE in crastart.conf (ex. CRATRACE=DUMMY).
Problem conclusion
01.This APAR will strip off trailing spaces on all fields in the generated SCL. 02.Enhancement to enable/disable tracing of CRASTART startup. If rsecomm.log debug level 2 is set in v911, or DD CRATRACE is specified in crastart.conf (ex. CRATRACE=DUMMY) for older releases, then the CRASTART startup mechanism will remain active to trap and interpret messages from CRASTART. This implies that each CARMA connection will use 3 address spaces instead of 1.
