Error description

  • Rational Developer for System z (RDz): PL/I Outline view is
    incorrect within PUT statement which contains some repetition
    using a DO Clause. The DO clause is wrongly assumed as a
    new block and the following instructions are wrongly included
    in this block.
    Example:
    PUT SKIP EDIT((A(I) DO I = 1 TO 3)) (A);

Local fix

Problem summary

  • The PL/I outline view treated DO clauses in stream statements
    (PUT and GET) like DO statements, leading to miscalculations of
    the blocks in a PL/I program.

Problem conclusion

  • Fixed PL/I outline view model handler to recognize DO in stream
    statements as different from DO statements.

    The problem listed in this APAR has been resolved with
