Error description

  • Rational Developer for System z - RDz - V9.0.1

When selecting a large sequential data set in the Remote System
Explorer view, the size property in the Properties view shows
either a wrong file size or the label 'Pending...'.

Local fix

Problem summary

  • The RDz client showed empty file size instead of "Pending..."
status when it took long time to get the size of a large
dataset. After the client got the size, the client failed to
update the displayed size value in the property sheet.

Problem conclusion

  • The RDz client was fixed to show "Pending..." status until the
end of getting file size, and update the property value when the
selected resource was a large dataset.

The problem listed in this APAR has been resolved with
IBM Rational Developer for System z V9.0.1.3 Fix Pack which
