APAR status

Error description

  • After successfully adding a license server to the IBM Rational
    License Key Server (RLKS) Administration and Reporting tool
    (ART), and waiting a reasonable amount of time for the ART to
    process the license data from the license server, the server
    does not appear in the list of available servers when attempting
    to generate license usage reports.
    
    2 separate scenarios can cause this issue:
    - Browser cache may not be getting invalidated, so the browser
    is not requesting modified information from the server.
       Workaround: clear the browser cache and the server will
    appear.
    - License log is very short, and lacks license information.
      Workaround: Remove and restart reporting for that server:
       - In the main server list, select the license server that is
    not appearing in the report list
       - In the actions for that server, do 'Remove Reporting.' This
    removes the reporting data for that server from the ART.
       - Wait some amount of time (At least 5 minutes)
       - Do a 'start reporting' for that server.
       - Wait some time (At least 5 minutes)
       - Create a new report definition. The server should be
    visible.

Problem conclusion

  • This issue has been fixed in RLKS Administration and Reporting
    Tool version 8.1.4.3.
