PI15445: RIT AGENT FAILS "UPON DEPLOYING STUB" IF INVALID DISPLAY VARIABLE SET ON LINUX (I.E. FOR X SERVER HOST)

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Where invalid values are configured for the X server DISPLAY on
  Red Hat Linux it has been seen that the Agent will produce an
  error such as:
  
  INFO: VirtualAppinstance1 (0): UserLocation: /root/user/X11
  connection rejected because of wrong authentication.
  INFO: VirtualAppinstance1 (0): X connection to localhost:10.0
  broken (explicit kill or server shutdown).
  
  This should be considered an error since the Agent does not make
  use of the X server GUI.
  

Local fix

• Remove the DISPLAY variable from the system.
  
  (Alternatively correct the DISPLAY variable so there is a valid
  X server connection, which will not be used.)

Problem conclusion

• This problem has been resolved in version 8.6.0.1 of Rational
  Integration Tester by ensuring that the DISPLAY variable is
  removed from the environment in the script the Agent uses to
  launch the stub.
