Error description

  • If you re-apply an XML schema to a message action in IBM
Rational Integration Tester (RIT), the previous settings for
"Field is optional" and "Ignore rule cache" are lost.

    STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

    1. Create a test with a Subscribe step and apply a schema such
    as XSD.
    2. Set a message node options "Field is optional" and "ignore
    rule cache".
    3. Save the change.
    4. Open the test action and re-apply the XSD schema and select
    "Retain data".
    5. View the message field from step (2).

    EXPECTED RESULTS:

The "Field is optional" and "Ignore rule cache" options remain
    checked.

    ACTUAL RESULTS:

The "Field is optional" and "Ignore rule cache" options are now

    * includes a fix for this issue *
    ****************************************************************
In the fixed version of Rational Integration Tester, note that
these settings will be saved when re-applying a schema, except
in the case of a field being REQUIRED by the schema. In this
case, if the field has been marked as "Field is optional", and
then the schema is re-applied, the setting will be removed as it
    should not be optional.

Problem conclusion

  • A fix for this issue was provided in version 8.6.0 of Rational
    Integration Tester
