Error description

  • When running code in batch which fails due to a limit (runLim)
    in the number of execution cycles, that information is not
    displayed in the resulting error.

    To recreate :

    Run code such as the following in batch mode :

    "
    Stream out = write "C:\\temp\\batchlog.txt"

    "
    int i
    for (i =0; i<20000; i++) {
        out << "test aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
    bbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb ccccccccccccccccccccccccccccc
    ddddddddddddddddddddddd " i "\n"
     flush out
    }
    "

    Workaround :

    Add the line "pragma runLim, 0" to the start of the code to
    disable the execution timeout.

Problem conclusion

  • New message added for this specific case. Now displays: "DXL
    maximum instruction count reached (infinite loop?). Extend
    limit with pragma runLim,<count>."
