APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• It is not possible to establish an SSL connection to TIBCO EMS
  from RIT by following the instructions in the product manual.
  This seems to have come about when the JRE was migrated onto the
  IBM Java platform.
  
  When attempting to publish to EMS over SSL this error will
  occur:
  
  java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError:
  com.ibm.net.ssl.HttpsURLConnection
  

Local fix

• This issue only impacts SSL connections, so not using SSL may be
  a possible work around for some customers.
  

Problem summary

  * If a user follows the instructions on how to set up Tibco    *
  * EMS over SSL then when they click "Test Transport" nothing   *
  * happens and it is not clear to the user whether it is        *
  * correctly configured or not.   If the user looks at the JVM  *
  * log in Tester then they will see the following error:        *

Problem conclusion

• This problem occured because for some versions of EMS (at least
  version 4) the jar files configured in Library Manager were not
  sufficient for SSL connectivity.  This problem has been resolved
  in version 8.6.0.1 of Rational Integration Tester and Library
  Manager now lists the correct TIBCO jar files.  Users affected
  by this should upgrade and then use Library Manager to configure
  the EMS jar files again.
