Error description
Rational Seveloper for System z USS z/FS and HFS file contents not saved after Menu ?? File ?? Restart After editing and saving an xml-file in zFS (z/OS-Unix) the content doesn't get synchronized with the z/OS-File after RDz client restart. A local version of the file is saved but the host-file itself doesn't get changed. The procedure is as follows: - open an existing or new file with RDZ in the - change content to 'First' - save the file ? keep editor open - In RDz Menu ?? File ?? Restart - change content to 'Second' - save the file * observe that the changes are not saved on reopening the editor Workaround: Close editor window after saving and before the restart.
Local fix
Problem summary
Timestamps were not always correctly set and in some circumstances, BIDI checking was done when it was not needed.
Problem conclusion
Only files that are not currenly being edited are now having their timestamp set to 0. This means that open editors won't lose data. Additionally, the code that does BIDI checking will only set BIDI properties if a resource is set to inherit them and there are changed BIDI options. The problem listed in this APAR has been resolved with IBM Rational Developer for System z V9.0.1.3 Fix Pack which is available from the Recommended Fixes support download page: http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=2294&uid=swg27006335
