Error description

  • Specific DOORS Symbol not recognized for conversion to Unicode ?
    gets displayed as 'j' when exported to Microsoft Word.

    Latest version on which issue reproduced: 9.5.2

    Steps to reproduce:
    ===============
    1? Use the attached DOORS Module which has the symbol inserted
    via DOORS - Edit Object Text - Insert - Symbol

    2? Export the Module to Microsoft Word using the standard export
    feature. You would notice that the Symbol has been converted
    into English lowercase alphabet 'j'

    Observations:
    ==========
    1? If we run the inbuilt sample DXL 'Convert Symbol characters
    to Unicode', this Symbol is not even recognized and a pop up
    message stating : 'Number of values modified: 0' is displayed.

    2? The same Symbol when inserted using DOORS 8.3 and exported to
    Word exports the Symbol fine and its NOT converted to 'j'

    Workaround:
    =========
    The perm 'unicodeString' used in the sample DXL 'Convert Symbol
    characters to Unicode' has a value of false for the Boolean
    parameter 'convertAllSymbols'. If we make this Boolean value to
    true and then run the DXL sample, the above mentioned symbol is
    identified and changed accordingly. Exporting the Unicode
    converted Symbol retains the symbol in the exported document.
