Error description

  • The CXF code in open liberty cannot process zip encoded
    incoming SOAP message and throws XML processing exception.
    CXF code needs to be updated to support zip encoded SOAP
    message.

    The Web services CXF code in Liberty could not process an
    incoming SOAP message that was gzip encoded and failed with the
    following error:

Problem conclusion

  • This problem occurred because the CXF code did not have the
    correct Gzip interceptor loaded to process the gzip encoded SOAP
    message. The problem was fixed by adding a custom JVM property:
    cxf.add.gzip.in.interceptor. If this JVM system property is set
    to true, CXF will load the correct Gzip interceptor for
    processing the gzip encoded SOAP message.
    
    The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix
    pack 20.0.0.1.  Please refer to the Recommended Updates page for
