APAR status

Error description

  • Under the Logging and tracing > (server_name) > JVM Logs >
    Runtime tab, if users select the SystemOut.log.owner or
    SystemErr.log.owner files and view them, an error will be
    shown, because they are not viewable.

    *                      Logs Runtime tab in the Adminstrative   *
    *                      Console.                                *

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    Under the Logging and tracing > (server_name) > JVM Logs >
    Runtime tab in the Administrative console, if either of the
    SystemOut.log.owner
    or
    SystemErr.log.owner files are selected to be viewed, the
    following error is shown:
    The file named
    /root/IBM/WebSphere/AppServer/profiles/AppSrv01/logs/server1/Sys
    temOut.log.owner on server server1 is not a valid log file.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The SystemOut.log.owner and SystemErr.log.owner files are not
    valid log files that can be viewed. These files were removed
    from the list of JVM log files that can be viewed in the
    Administrative Console.
    
    The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
    fix pack 8.5.5.17 and 9.0.5.2.  Please refer to the Recommended
