APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The server converts relative URLs beginning with a '/'
character to an absolute URL before responding to the client,
but in earlier IHS releases the relative URL was presented to
    the client directly.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Relative URLs in redirects do not *
    * have the same behavior as earlier IHS *

    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply this fix if using redirects with IBM *
    *                  HTTP Server 9.0                             *
    ****************************************************************
If the redirect target of the ´Redirect´ or ´RedirectMatch´
directives begins with a slash, setting ´RedirectRelative ON´
prevents the server from adding the servers scheme, host, and
    port as a prefix.
This new directive restores the redirect behavior from earlier
    IHS releases.

Problem conclusion

  • A new 'RedirectRelative' directive was added, and when set to
'ON' a relative URL is presented to the client directly and
not converted to an absolute URL before responding to the
    client.
