Error description
Rational Developer for z - RDz - v9.5 IBM Developer for z Systems - IDz - v14 If the default editor for JCL is set for the LPEX editor then submitting a job that is opened by doing a SJ for a job in the Remote Systems view will fail with message: CRRZI0072E The job submission failed because the job car is incomplete or invalid. Verify the job card and submit the job again.
Local fix
Set the default editor *.jcl in Windows > preferences > General > Editors > File associations to be JCL editor.
Problem summary
Attempts to submit JCL that is opened via SJ in Remote Systems view fails.
Problem conclusion
The code that submits the JCL was not submitting the JCL based on whether the JCL source had been edited. The code was changed to always submit the JCL from the editing session. The problem listed in this APAR has been resolved with IBM Rational Developer for z Systems V9.5.1.10 Fix Pack which is available from the Recommended Fixes support download page: http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=2294&uid=swg27006335
