    ****************************************************************
The Enterprise COBOL compiler did not provide support for
the following intrinsic functions from the 2014 COBOL
    standard:

       NUMVAL-F, TEST-NUMVAL, TEST-NUMVAL-C,
       TEST-NUMVAL-F, BYTE-LENGTH, EXP, EXP10,
       ABS and SIGN.

The Enterprise COBOL compiler did not provide support
for intrinsic functions that convert bit strings
and hex character strings to a corresponding alphanumeric
character string containing bytes that correspond to the
bit/hex digit values in the original string.

Problem conclusion

Temporary fix

Comments

  • The compiler was updated to add support for the following
intrinsic functions from the 2014 COBOL standard:

       NUMVAL-F, TEST-NUMVAL, TEST-NUMVAL-C,
       TEST-NUMVAL-F, BYTE-LENGTH, EXP, EXP10,
       ABS and SIGN.

The compiler was updated to add support for the
following intrinsic functions that are IBM extensions
    to COBOL:

       BIT-TO-CHAR and HEX-TO-CHAR.

For a detailed description of each new intrinsic function,
please refer to the IBM Enterprise COBOL for z/OS V6.2
documentation online, in the Language Reference Manual,
    section "Intrinsic functions".
