APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Using a BPMN model, create an annotation object outside of the
swim-lane.
Save.
Close Rational Software Architect .
Reopen Rational Software Architect .
Rational Software Architect does not give an option to delete it
.
You can press delete key on keyboard and it goes away, but when
you save and re-open a document, the deleted annotation comes
back.

Local fix

  • Workaround to delete text annotation.
Steps:
  1. delete the text content of the text annotation.
  2. save the diagram.
  3. close and reopen the diagram.
  4. delete the text annotation.

Problem conclusion

  • "Delete from Model" context menu is enabled for Text Annotations
now and selecting that deletes the element from the model. This
is done in 9.7.0.2.
