LO93663: NTS_SENDMAIL_SAVE_OPTIONS=NOATT CAUSES EMAILS TO BE UNREADABLE
Direct links to fixes
Closed as program error.
When the Traveler administrator sets option NTS_SENDMAIL_SAVE_OPTIONS=noatt in the notes.ini, Traveler removes attachments from emails sent from the device before saving the email in the Sent folder. The mechanism that Traveler uses to remove the attachments works well for emails in which the attachment is in a MIME section. However, when the email is constructed such that the attachment is an inline attachment inside an HTML section, the mechanism removes the entire HTML section, which causes a parsing error when the Notes client tries to read the email. This fix prevents Traveler from removing the HTML section, even if it contains an inline image.
You can work around the problem by removing 'noatt' from the specification of NTS_SENDMAIL_SAVE_OPTIONS. This will prevent Traveler from trying to remove the attachments before saving the email to the Sent Items folder.
When saving the sent copy of mail without attachments, some body content may also get removed when removing inline images.
The Traveler server has been updated to handle this scenario correctly.
This fix will be included in IBM Traveler 126.96.36.199 and all future releases. For the latest available maintenance release see this technote: http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg24019529
