LO87613: CERTAIN MESSAGES SYNC TO VERSE CLIENTS WITHOUT BODY IF PLAINTEXT VERSION OF MESSAGE IS EMPTY
Direct links to fixes
Closed as program error.
Certain messages may sync to Verse clients without Body, while the same messages sync to ActiveSync clients correctly. When syncing a message that contains no attachments to a SyncML device, Traveler would only ever try to send a plaintext version of the message down to the device, assuming that html may not be supported by the client. However if the plaintext version of the message (extracted from the html) was empty, then no body would sync down to the SyncML Traveler client. This can happen if an html message contains only a url link in an html <href> tag, or in some other way has no plaintext content. We have added a check to first verify that the device supports html, and if so send this down as the body rather than the plaintext in this case.
The message should sync normally to the IBM Verse client even if missing the plain text portion of the message.
The IBM Traveler server has been updated to handle this scenario correctly.
This fix will be included in IBM Traveler 22.214.171.124 and all future releases. For the latest available maintenance release see this technote: http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg24019529
