APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • There is an issue when using DBMaint for stand-alone servers
where if the interval is configured to a number greater than 24,
then the server will always perform maintenance on server
restart. This is not an issue for stand-alone servers that have
their interval set to 24 or less.

Local fix

  • The DBMaint interval can be set to 24 or less. This will allow
the DBMaint function to operate as expected.

Problem summary

  • When setting auto defrag using dbmaint tell command on a
standalone server the system may defrag more frequently then
desired if using a value greater than 24 days.

Problem conclusion

  • The IBM Traveler server was updated to correctly handle this
    scenario.
