LO86061: SOME MESSAGES SENT FROM TRAVELER DEVICES CANNOT BE RECALLED BY THE SENDER IN NOTES CLIENT
Direct links to fixes
Closed as program error.
If the user sends a MIME message from a Traveler mail client using the Exchange ActiveSync protocol (e.g. BlackBerry mail client, built-in iOS mail app), this message may not be able to be recalled by the sender using the Notes client. The user may see the following message on the Domino console: "Router: Message <last 8 digits of doc UNID> for <recipient> failed to be recalled by <sender>. <doc UNID>" This is because these mail clients may generate their own MessageIDs and send these up to the server when the users sends the mail. However, because these MessageIDs are not of the standard Notes-generated-format, they are not recognized when passed into the Domino MIME-processing APIs, causing a $INetOrig field to be created for the Note which contains a 32-byte string that may differ from the document's UNID. Because these two fields do not match, the attempt to recall the message afterwards may fail, because Domino will search for a document whose UNID matches the $INetOrig field, but such a document may not exist. With this fix, we ensure that Traveler creates a new Notes-formatted MessageID for new documents created in the send-path, and make sure that this field is not changed again later.
There was an issue where a MIME message sent from a Traveler mail client using the Exchange Activesync Protocol (Blackberry, built-in iOS mail app) may not be able to be recalled by the sender using the Notes client. This message may be seen on the Domino console: "Router: Message <last 8 digits of doc UNID> for <recipient> failed to be recalled by <sender>. <doc UNID>"
The Notes Traveler Server was updated to allow the user to properly recall the mail in this scenario.
This fix will be included in IBM Traveler 18.104.22.168 and all later releases. For the latest Traveler Maintenance release information see this technote: http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg24019529
