LO84686: USER STOPS RECEIVING MAIL FOR A PERIOD OF TIME AFTER MAIL SERVER RESTARTED
Direct links to fixes
Closed as program error.
The problem this APAR addresses was introduced in IBM Traveler 188.8.131.52. If within a 4 hour period all of a user's mail servers become unavailable, IBM Traveler has cached this information and will not monitor the user's mail file for changes. This condition will resolve itself after 4 hours or immediately when a "Tell Traveler User <userId>" command is issued for a user. When the issue is resolved, the user will receive any delayed updates from IBM Traveler. The problem is caused by IBM Traveler caching the availability state of the user's mail file and not re-evaluating that state correctly. Until the cache is refreshed the user will be able to connect to IBM Traveler, but will not receive updates.
Tell Traveler User <userId>
This problem only seen if all mail replicas for a user are restarted within a span of 4 hours. Once pass the 4 hour barrier the problem will resolve itself.
The problem has to do with managing the 4 hour mail server availibility cache. The IBM Traveler server has been updated to handle this scenario correctly.
This fix will be included in IBM Traveler 184.108.40.206 and all later releases. See this technote for the latest available maintenance level: http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg24019529
