APAR status

Error description

  • By default, Traveler will append the mail domain to Domino
canonical names on mail addresses when mail is synced from the
device through the server. If the lookup finds a null domain,
it is not included. But if the domain is not null but empty, it
was still being included causing canonical addresses to end
with just @ making some mails undeliverable. The fix to is to
not include an empty domain (treat it like a null or unspecified
     domain).

Local fix

Problem summary

  • When sending mail from a mobile device using Notes Traveler the
mail may fail to deliver if an empty domain is detected and
    appended to the address.

Problem conclusion

  • Pretty rare scenario but the Notes Traveler server was updated
to remove a domain that has no value. The no value domain would
cause delivery failure as the address would then be malformed by
    ending in an @ symbol.
