LO78973: DB CONNECTIONS GROWING OR LONG RUNNING SYNCH threads
Closed as program error.
There is a condition when a mail sever goes does down can cause the Notes Traveler server to have the # of DB connections to continue to grow and threads continue to run for a long period of time. The code will fix the resource contention issue where threads get stuck waiting on each other. The work around for the problem is restart Notes Traveler.
Restart Notes Traveler task
Some customer reported slow sync times and Red Status messages on the server for long running threads. In addition the customer may see 503, server busy messages due to maxed out database connections. This problem was actually triggered when a member of a mail cluster changed in status, for example was rebooted. The actions to record the state change of the mail server were being single threaded to the Notes Traveler database thereby artificially backing up the Database connections.
The Notes Traveler server was updated to handle this update in parallel and not backup up threads for a minor update.
This fix is included in Notes Traveler 9.0.1 IF4 and all future releases. For the latest Notes Traveler maintenance release information please see this technote: http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg24019529
