Error description

  • Customer noticed that when using the setting
ExhaustiveNameLookup=1 in desktop policy, user's will not be
able to change this value in their own location document.

To reproduce I used 8.5.2 Notes client and 8.5.2 Domino server
    with the following steps:
    1) Create a new desktop settings document. In the "Custom
Settings" tab select the "Locations" tab.
    2) Select "Edit List" and enter ExhaustiveNameLookup with a
value of "1". Do not check the Enforce checkbox.
    3) Save the settings document and add to an explicit policy and
    assign to a test user.
    4) Log in as the test user and make sure policy has pushed down
    to the $policies view.
    5) Now edit locations and see that under the Mail tab "Recipient
name lookup:" is set to "Exhaustively check all address books".
    6) Change this value to "Stop after first match" and save your
    changes.
    7) Reopen the location document and see the value has changed
back to "Exhaustively check all address books".

If you remove the setting from the desktop settings document,
the users will again be allowed to change this setting.
