Error description
After MIME-CD conversion, some attachment truncated and we can't open the attachment with the error "Note item not found." The problem occurs in Domino 7.0.4, 8.x and 8.5.x. It didn't occur in Domino 6.x, and 7.0.3. *** Steps to reproduce *** 1. Register two people (UserA and UserB) on your Domino Directory. 2. Set "Format preference for incoming mail" to "Keep in sender's format" for UserA, and "Prefer Notes Rich Text format" for UserB. 3. Restart Domino Server. 4. Telnet to your Domino Server via port 25 and send an e-mail with the attached message source (problem.txt). 5. UserA and UserB open the received message. 6. UserA can open/view the attachment (PDF). However, UserB can't open/view the attachment with the error "Note item not found." Moreover, the size of the attachment that UserB received is 4KB, even though UserA's one is 127KB. *** Analysis *** TNEFEnableConversion=1 didn't have any effect for the problem.
Local fix
Change the Person document setting "Format preference for incoming mail" to "keep in senders' format" or "Prefer MIME format."
