Error description
API Management v4 HTTP operations would return the backend server error payload to the API client. The API Connect v5 invoke policy errors returns a generic response. A new API property will be supported to allow v5 to return the backend server error payload instead of a generic error response.
Local fix
Problem summary
API Connect version 5 would always return a generic error response to the client when a backend returned an error with a JSON and XML (non-SOAP) payloads, but API Management version 4 would proxy the backend server payload as the API response. A new API property x-ibm-gateway-invoke-emulate-v4-invoke-error will allow the API to specify if it needs the version 4 behavior to return the backend error response payload.
