LI81047: API CONNECT V5 INVOKE POLICY ERROR RESPONSES NOT COMPATIBLE WITH APIM V4

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• API Management v4 HTTP operations would return the backend
  server error payload to the API client.  The API Connect v5
  invoke policy errors returns a generic response.  A new API
  property will be supported to allow v5 to return the backend
  server error payload instead of a generic error response.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• API Connect version 5 would always return a generic error
  response to the client when a backend returned an error with a
  JSON and XML (non-SOAP) payloads, but API Management version 4
  would proxy the backend server payload as the API response.  A
  new API property x-ibm-gateway-invoke-emulate-v4-invoke-error
  will allow the API to specify if it needs the version 4 behavior
  to return the backend error response payload.
  

Problem conclusion

  delivered in the API Connect 5.0.8.8 GA,
  5.0.8.7-iFix</span><span style="background-color:rgb(255, 255,
  255)"> and 2018.4.1.7 GA releases.</span>
