APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • After connection failures between DataPower Gateway(s) and API
Management servers, the recovery attempts made by the Gateway(s)
may result in mismatched credentials between APIM and the
Gateway and error such as:

Unable to obtain access token from
https://<apim-rest-platform-endpoint>/api/token
[apic-gw-service][error]  apic-gw-service(default): tid(245):
Unable to advertise policies to the API Manager. Error:
StatusCodeError: 401 - {"status":401,"message":["Unauthorized"]}

Local fix

  • A possible workaround  would be to manually force the recovery
by restarting the gateway(s) manually.

Problem summary

  • Reconnection attempts from gateway to management server may fail
with invalid credentials

Problem conclusion

  • Fix targeted for release in v2018.4.1.8.
