  • In 64 bit mode, run time performance was lost because the
    constant needs to be loaded from the constant area due to
    floating point registers (non-volatile) being used.

  • PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The compiler is using floating point store
    instruction to implement a memset function in 64-bit mode.
    This causes floating point registers to be used.
    
    USERS AFFECTED: Any user compiling a 64-bit program.
