When running the showpdf binary on a profile; the showpdf binary segfaults without any indication. ==== RUN COMMAND: $/usr/bin/showpdf <location_of_files> -f <profile_name> ===== ACTUAL OUTPUT: $/usr/bin/showpdf /usrname/home/prof -f profile PDF info file is: /usrname/prof/profile Version = 10 Size = 2029456 Time stamp: Tue May 8 20:48:57 2012 Segmentation fault $ ===== EXPECTED OUTPUT: The showpdf binary should not segfault.
USERS AFFECTED: Anyone using PDF and the showpdf tool are affected by this issue. PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The showpdf tool will segfault for some profiles when the PdfMap and PdfBinary files used are from different compilation instances. The showpdf tool requires the PdfBinary and PdfMap files to be from the same compilation instances (thereby having the same compilation timestamps), else information from both files will not match up.
With the fix users will get a message if they supply PdfBinary and PdfMap files from different compilation instances.
