APAR status

  • Closed as documentation error.

Error description

  • Between the 3.3.2 and 3.5.2 releases Applets were removed,
Document Manager Upload updated, and security constaints put in
place. As a result of all these changes, 'External URL'
navigation items that worked in 3.3.2.x to upload
documents may no longer work.

This fact needs to be documented.

Local fix

  • Use Document Manager to do Document Uploads

Problem summary

  • The application builder guide will be updated to make it clear
the document upload widget is only designed to be used in the
context of either document manager or a record, not the portal

Problem conclusion

  • After the change from the Applet upload to HTML5 upload, the
widget can no longer be used directly in a portal section
without a record context.
